About Cinema Truth

The Center for Documentary and Experimental Cinema Development of the Cinema Affairs Organization holds the International Iranian Documentary Film Festival “Cinema Truth” in Tehran every December with the slogan “Truth is the Best Guide”.
Representing the history and culture of the Iranian-Islamic society, protecting the national identity based on religious and Iranian ideas, strengthening Iran’s creative documentary cinema, expressing the relationship between documentary cinema and sustainable development, familiarizing the country’s filmmakers with new developments in world documentary cinema, paying attention to the importance of the documentary cinema economy with an emphasis on removing obstacles to the production, distribution, and screening of these works in domestic and foreign arenas are among the principles and goals of this festival.
The first edition of the International Cinema Truth Festival was held in 2007, and over the years, Cinema Truth has become the most important documentary cinema event in Iran and the Middle East.
